Press Release Summary: SkillsTrain has become the country's top achieving college in the recent International Association of Book-keepers computerised book keeping exams. The company achieved the accolade ahead of competition from conventional colleges and learning institutes.
Press Release Body: In a presentation ceremony on 8th July, IT distance-learning college SkillsTrain has been named as the UK's top achieving college in the International Association of Book-keepers Level 2 Certificate in Computerised Book-keeping. SkillsTrain's Principal Myra Smallman was presented with a commemorative plaque in honour of the achievement.
Malcolm Trotter, Chief Executive, IAB Qualifications for Business said, "This is a well deserved accolade. Every year the quality and standards improve, so for SkillsTrain to receive this award it is a great achievement".
The accolade was made after the company's home learners' book-keeping exam results cumulatively achieved the top slot for SkillsTrain, despite competition from students in full time study and from conventional colleges.
SkillsTrain Principal Myra Smallman said "Home study has become increasingly popular as it allows people to fit their studies around their existing work and family commitments. It is a really great honour for our students to have received this recognition as it demonstrates how seriously they take their studies and how committed they are to our home study courses. It's quite remarkable for SkillsTrain to have received this recognition when the college was up against so many full time courses and colleges."
SkillsTrain has trained over 6 million home and work based students over the past 60 years and uses a blend of learning techniques to prepare students for a variety of disciplines, from technical IT courses to Web-design, office administration and book-keeping.
The IAB is the leading international membership body for professional book-keepers and provides financial and business qualifications for thousands of students and members worldwide.
